What Happened to UNCHILD’s ‘TiNG TiNG’?
Nearly a month after the rookie group’s first comeback was unexpectedly postponed, fans are still waiting for a new release date.

UNCHILD were supposed to be in the middle of their first comeback by now.
Instead, nearly a month after High Up Entertainment postponed the rookie girl group’s second digital single “TiNG TiNG,” its new release date remains unclear.
The single was originally scheduled to arrive on September 2 at 6 p.m. KST, marking UNCHILD’s first comeback since their April debut. High Up had formally begun the comeback campaign in August, introducing a new visual universe built around glitch imagery, retro-game graphics and the message “PRESS START.”
Then the campaign stopped.
On August 24, High Up announced that the release would be postponed due to “internal company circumstances.” The agency apologized to fans and said a new schedule would be announced once it had been confirmed.
As of September 24, KPOP MAGAZINE could not find a newly announced release date on High Up Entertainment’s official website.
A Comeback That Had Already Started
What makes the situation unusual is how far the comeback had already progressed.
High Up first confirmed on July 30 that UNCHILD were preparing for a September return, saying the group was in the final stages of preparing the new release.
On August 19, the company officially revealed “TiNG TiNG” and its September 2 release date.
Its logo video introduced a playful digital world filled with glitches, colorful objects and video-game-inspired imagery—a continuation of the unconventional visual identity UNCHILD established with their debut. High Up’s official announcement remains online.
Promotional material continued to arrive in the days that followed. High Up’s own news archive includes another UNCHILD comeback update dated August 21, only days before the postponement.
Then Everything Went Quiet
The postponement itself does not necessarily indicate anything beyond what High Up stated.
Release schedules change for many reasons, and the agency has not publicly provided further details about the “internal company circumstances” cited in its announcement.
But the absence of a replacement date has increasingly attracted attention. Recent coverage has documented fans asking for information about the group using the hashtag #WhereIsUnchild, with some expressing concern over the lack of member updates following the postponed release.
Those concerns should not be confused with confirmed information about the group’s future.
At this point, High Up has announced a postponement—not a cancellation or disbandment.
There has been no official announcement establishing either of those outcomes.
Why ‘TiNG TiNG’ Mattered
For a rookie group, the first comeback can be particularly important.
UNCHILD debuted on April 21 with “We Are UNCHILD,” introducing six members—Yeeun, Heekie, Tina, Ako, Evon and Haeun—and an identity built around rejecting conventional standards. The group’s official artist page currently lists only that debut in its discography.
By July, only 100 days after debut, High Up was already positioning the September comeback as the group’s next step.
“TiNG TiNG” was therefore more than another digital single. It was supposed to show what UNCHILD looked like after their debut concept had been established.
That second chapter hasn’t arrived yet.
Waiting for the Next ‘PRESS START’
There is an unintended irony in the imagery that introduced “TiNG TiNG.” Its promotional universe began with a screen announcing:
A month later, fans are still waiting for the game to resume.
High Up Entertainment’s current UNCHILD artist page lists only the group’s debut release, “We Are UNCHILD,” in its discography. The company’s public news archive likewise shows no newly announced “TiNG TiNG” release date as of September 24.
For now, that leaves “TiNG TiNG” in an unusual position: announced, promoted and postponed—but not cancelled.
Until High Up announces what comes next, UNCHILD’s first comeback remains unfinished business.
