HYOJUNG’s Lost&Found: Three Songs, Two Ways to Listen

Three original songs, three instrumental counterparts and returning collaborators: a route into the music behind the OH MY GIRL singer’s voice.

HYOJUNG’s first mini-album, Lost&Found, arrived on October 15 with a useful invitation: hear the songs, then return to their accompaniment. Its six-track sequence places three vocal recordings before their matching instrumentals. For anyone interested in how a solo identity takes shape, that structure creates room to consider both the singer and the production supporting her.

This is not the beginning of her solo catalogue. Purple Note, released digitally on May 21, 2026, supplies a revealing comparison. Several contributors to its title song, “나의 작은 청춘에게,” return on the new title track, “미완성일지도.”

A personal record, made together

The album notes describe the title track as a search for direction through one’s own instincts. HYOJUNG shares both its lyric and composition credits. The names beside hers make that personal statement a collaborative one.

Purple Note’s title song credits the same four lyricists and the same four instrumentalists. One change sits in the arrangement: CRACKER remains, while Im Min-ki takes the place of Kim Tae-seong. Already credited on guitar on the earlier song, Im also joins the new title’s composition team.

That is a more precise connection than simply saying the releases share a sound. The credits document continuity in the people involved, with one musician taking on additional roles. They do not tell us the recording order, the number of takes or whether everyone performed together.

Listen around the voice

The instrumental editions make those names useful starting points. Choose a short passage of the vocal recording, then play the corresponding passage without the lead voice. Which part becomes easier to follow? Does a guitar figure draw your attention? Can you trace the bass through a section change? Are the keys supplying movement, or leaving space?

Return to the full song and shift your attention to the ends of vocal phrases. What happens just after a line finishes? Does the accompaniment occupy the gap, or leave it open? These are questions to take to the recording, not a description of what every listener must hear.

From the record to the room

The next setting is already scheduled. YES24’s promoter notice lists HYOJUNG 1st LIVE Lost & Found at XSCALA, describing it as her first solo live show.

October 176 p.m. KST · XSCALA
October 185 p.m. KST · XSCALA

A concert may offer another perspective on the songs; the notice does not establish a setlist or promise the studio personnel onstage. For now, the record provides its own route in: follow HYOJUNG’s writing contribution, the collaborators beside her and the accompaniment that remains when the voice steps away.
